Health Coaching: a Nurse's Career Path to Flexibility, Purpose, and Balance

What do nurses want?

They want to help people!  They want to provide for their families.  But they don’t  want to kill themselves in the process! They want to preserve their own health…both physically and mentally. They want to provide for their families while also having time for their families. They want to help their patients without having others impose limitations on how they do it. They want to be respected. They want more autonomy and control. We have summarized what nurses want into three Qualities of Life: flexibility, purpose, and balance.  Experiencing these Qualities of Life are dependent on generating an income that meets financial needs.

Health Coaching offers nurses a vehicle to generate an income that can allow them to experience these Qualities of Life.

Flexibility is about having control and autonomy over what you do with your time.

Purpose is about finding a greater sense of meaning and personal fulfillment in what you do with your time.

Balance is about finding the time for the things that are most important so that there is enough time for work-demands and for self-care.
